Trailer Marketing Inc. was established in 1988 in Monroe Louisiana. Founded by Robert Holdsworth, TMI initially was an opportunity to branch out on his own and sell trailers to the owner operator market. A single line phone and a 1/8 page advertisement generated enough business that within a year plans had been made to expand. TMI moved to Walton, Kentucky in 1990 with two semi trailer lines (Transcraft and Reitnouer) on board and business started to take off. The original Kentucky location remains TMI's corporate office.  Today, TMI offers a complete line of dealer sales, parts and service for aluminum and steel flatbed, drop deck and heavy haul lowboy/double drop trailers by Reitnouer, Fontaine, Doonan and Trail King.

The success of the Kentucky location meant that expansion was not far behind.  1999 was one of the biggest years in the history of trucking and also a big year for TMI. TMI horse and livestock division was formed; affectionately referred to as "Little TMI" at the time, this division has since turned into an important part of our corporate identity. In addition to aluminum horse and livestock trailers by Hart, Bloomer and Lakota, an impressive line of Priefert Farm & Ranch equipment is also available.  Thanks to over two decades of experience in keeping commercial and recreational trailers on the road, TMI is also able to offer the same expertise in aluminum and steel fabrication/welding to its horse and livestock customers as it has traditionally offered to the professional owner-operator trucking customers that have been the core of our business for years.

In May of 2007, TMI decided to join the internet revolution and "get serious" about doing business online.  With a newly-redesigned website and a copy of "Building Your Business With Google For Dummies", TMI put its trailer inventory on the world wide web and began to market our horse and flatbed trailers to the whole United States, Canada and Mexico.  The success of this internet trailer marketing effort drove the launch of TMI's online trailer parts & accessories product catalog in April 2008.  Time will tell...but for a bunch of hillbillys from Walton, Kentucky, things are looking pretty good so far!
